Method
How the calculation works
- Direct added cost = labor hours × loaded rate + materials + subs/equipment
- Adjusted cost = direct cost × (1 + disruption/waste allowance)
- Price = adjusted cost ÷ (1 − target margin)
Worked example
The default added scope carries $6,748 direct cost. A 13% allowance and 25% target margin produce a price of about $10,167.

What this estimate does not decide
- This is a pricing model, not a contract notice or entitlement analysis.
- Credits, schedule damages, bond, retainage, tax, and contractual markup caps require separate treatment.
Questions
Change-order pricing FAQ
Why price a change like a small bid?
Added work still consumes labor, materials, coordination, and profit capacity, often with less purchasing and scheduling efficiency.
Can this calculate deductive changes?
This release models added work only. Deductive changes require contract-specific treatment of avoided cost and markup.
